About 6:58pm on Sunday November 9, 2008, officers responded to a shot spotter activation (five shots recorded) in front of 225 Humboldt Avenue in Roxbury. While responding to 225 Humboldt Avenue, officers were updated that 911 calls were received for persons shot at that location. Upon arrival, an officer was flagged down by a crowd gathered in front of the Family Super Market located at 192 Humboldt Avenue. The officer was informed by the victims: two 17 year old males and one 16 year old male that they had been shot.The officer observed one victim to have a gun shot wound to the lower leg. The second victim observed to have a gun shot wound to the upper middle back and the third victim observed to have gun shot wounds to the lower leg and back area. The victims stated they were in front of the bus stop at the corner of Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street when they heard guns shots and then ran down the street to the Family Super Market.
Preliminary information received suggests that the shooter may have fled the area in a car because witnesses heard a car door slam shut. Other bystanders stated they observed a small black car with tinted windows flee the area towards Seaver Street. Others stated it was a small gray car with the letter \”c\” on it.
Officers were able to locate a crime scene at the intersection of Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street. Two victims were transported to the Boston Medical Center. The third victim was transported to Brigham and Woman\’s Hospital. All three victims are expected to survive their injuries.
