OVER THE LIMIT – UNDER ARREST DOWNTOWNAt about 2:50am, on Friday, November 7, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of Congress Street when they observed a motor vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one-way street. When officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an effort to stop the car, the operator accelerated, took a turn the wrong way up Sudbury Street and stopped her car in front of the Area A-1 police station located at 40 Sudbury Street. When officers asked the operator if she understood why she was being stopped, officers noted the operator to have slurred speech, glassy eyes and a smell of alcohol emanating from her breath. When officers asked the suspect to exit her motor vehicle, officers observed the suspect to be unsteady on her feet. When asked to take a Field Sobriety Test, the suspect consented.
After failing the test, officers arrested Kim Bulock, 38, of Ashland and charged her with Operating Under the Influence, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Operating to Endanger.
POLICE ARREST PURSE SNATCHER IN MATTAPAN
At about 9:00pm, on Thursday, November 6, 2008, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of Talbot Ave and Wales Street. According to the police dispatcher, the suspects (two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts) were last seen running up Wales Street towards Harvard Street. Officers quickly located two individuals matching the description of the suspects. When officers attempted to stop the suspects, one of the suspects stopped while the other kept on running. Officers observed and retrieved a black purse within two feet of the suspect. While officers were questioning the suspect, the victim was brought to the scene. Once on scene, the victim told officers, “He’s the one who grabbed my bag and ran.”
After the identification was made, officers arrested a 16 year-old male and charged him with Unarmed Robbery. When shown the purse recovered at the scene, the victim confirmed that it belonged to her.
UNLUCKY HORSESHOE LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODY
At about 8:30pm, on Thursday, November 6, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person damaging a car in front of 30 Gavin Way. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that the suspect showed up at her house intoxicated, demanding entry. According to the victim, when she told the suspect that she was too smashed to be allowed entry, the suspect walked over to her car and began striking her car with a horseshoe. Officers observed several freshly made dents to the victim’s motor vehicle.
Officers arrested Donna Reardon, 57, of Boston and charged her with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
