Around 2:00PM today, Tuesday, September 2, 2008, officers from the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested suspect, Lemarcus Smith aka Lenworth A. Spence, 27, of Jackson, Mississippi.Boston Police officers along with officers from the U.S. Marshall Service pursuant to an ongoing investigation developed information that the suspect was in the area of Business St. in Hyde Park. Officers responded to the area and observed the suspect in a motor vehicle in a car in the area of Dale and Glencliff Streets. Officers successfully stopped the car, removed the suspect who was driving the car and placed him under arrest due to an outstanding US Federal Warrant of Arrest. The warrant had been issued out of US District Court charging the suspect with: Being a Fugitive from Canada for Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Kidnapping, and Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offense. In addition to the above offenses, the suspect was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle without Being Licensed.
The suspect was summarily handed over to the to the U.S. Marshalls who then transported the suspect to U.S. District Court for arraignment on the above charges.
