TWO BIKES NOT ALWAYS BETTER THAN ONEAt about 9:48pm, on Sunday, August 24, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed an individual walking down the street while pushing two bicycles in the area of Cedar Street. Officers approached the individual and questioned him about the two bicycles. When asked to explain the reason for having two bicycles in his possession, the suspect stated, “One belongs to my cousin.” When asked to identify his cousin by name, the suspect stated he couldn’t remember his name. When asked a second time about the bicycles, the suspect stated, “I stole them.” At this point, officers arrested Joel Taylor, 55, of Dorchester and charged him with Larceny of a Bicycle. A search of the suspect’s backpack enabled officers to locate a pair of bolt cutters, a wire cutter and bicycle lock that had been cut off.
GRAFFITI VANDAL GETS HIS BALLOON BURST IN SOUTH BOSTON
At about 3:17am, on Monday, August 25, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for vandalism in progress in the area of A Street and Melcher Street in South Boston. According to the police dispatcher, the suspect was spray-painting a wall on the 9th floor in the rear of 285 Summer Street. On arrival, officers observed the suspect standing on a fire escape. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect climbed up on the roof of the building. Upon reaching the roof of the building, officers located the suspect. Officers observed that the suspect was covered in paint. When asked to explain his actions, the suspect admitted to having spray painted the building. The suspect told officers that he was attempting to paint large balloons. Officers arrested David Wang, 17, of South Boston and charged him with Vandalism (Graffiti).
