10,000 Community Members Expected to Participate at Franklin Park Zoo GatheringWHAT: Over 10,000 community members are expected for the citywide celebration at the Franklin Park Zoo. Neighbors are encouraged to attend and enjoy the evening activities that include:
Food and beverages from Kayem hot dogs and Nestea iced tea. Entertainment by the Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park, hip hop stars D.R.O.casso featuring Letia Larok, and God’s Finest, and the dance crew Status Quo. Event will feature sponsor tents and giveaways from Target and Tedeschi. Festivities will also include information made available by BPD’s Neighborhood Crime Watch Unit, The Boston Home Center, The Department of Correction, Suffolk County Sherriff’s Office, and Citizens for Safety. Other attractions for community members to enjoy include Zoo Encounters, the ReadBoston Storytelling Van, The Fire House for Kids, Facial Expressions face painting, Swirls Double Dutch, and Kevin McNamara and his one man band.
