DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2008

SPILL ON AISLE SEVEN LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODYAt about 10:30am, on Friday, July 18, 2008, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a male causing a disturbance inside the Shaw’s Supermarket at 4 River Street in Mattapan. On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that a male entered the store and began throwing food items onto the floor. According to witnesses, the suspect smashed several bottles of juice and threw a number of bakery items to the floor. Officers arrested James Kelly, 22, of Boston and charged him with the Destruction of Personal Property and Being Disorderly.
TWO UNARMED ROBBERS ARRESTED IN ROSLINDALE
At about 4:14pm, on Friday, July 18, 2008, officers from Area E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person robbed in the area of Cummins Highway and Florence Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was walking home when two individuals came up from behind him, pushed him to the ground and demanded money. The victim says he told the suspects that he had no money, so, they took his cigarettes and fled the area. Officers drove around the immediate area with the victim. While driving around, the victim spotted the two suspects in the area of Roslindale Square. When officers approached the suspects, the suspects fled. After a lengthy foot pursuit, officers arrested Danny Olivares, 17, of Hyde Park and a 15 year-old male from Roslindale and charged both with Unarmed Robbery.
SELF-PROCLAIMED VICTIMS PROVE TO BE SUSPECTS
At about 2:30am, on Friday, July 18, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a fight in the area of 200 Berkeley Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a male, who stated that he was talking to one of the female suspects when a 2nd female suspect approached him, kicked him in the leg and punched him in the head. The victim says he quickly began to defend himself by covering up, but, as he was doing so, the first female suspect joined in the attack and also began to punch and kick him. Officers observed cuts and scratch marks on the victim’s face and arms.
When officers spoke to the female suspects, the suspects stated that the victim was, in fact, the aggressor and they were simply defending themselves from his attack. Officers observed no visible injuries on either suspect. When officers spoke to witnesses, witnesses confirmed the victim’s version of the facts. When officers questioned the suspects about the veracity of their statements, the suspect began to verbally abuse the officers. One of the suspects stated, “I hope your wife gets beat up.” Officers noted that both of the suspects appeared to be intoxicated with slurred speech, glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol emanating from their persons.
When asked to provide their names, the suspects refused. At this point, officers arrested Nicole Totaro, 21, of Tenafly, NJ and Myheka Roper, 23, of Allston and charged both with Assault & Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
