WANNA-BE CABBIE ARRESTED DOWNTOWN: TAKE IAt about 2:15am, on Saturday, June 14, 2008, officers assigned to the Hackney Unit observed a motor vehicle marked up in such as to resemble a taxi. Given the lack of appropriate markings, officers were able to observe and determine that the motor vehicle was, in fact, not a properly licensed taxi. When officers observed the motor vehicle stop to pick up passengers, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. Officers arrested Eric Richard, 37, of Cambridge and charged him with violating the Boston Vehicle for Hire Ordinance.

At about 10:32pm, on Saturday, June 14, 2008, officers assigned to the Hackney Unit observed a motor vehicle, bearing livery license plates, stop and pick up four passengers in the area of State and Devonshire Streets. Knowing motor vehicles bearing livery plates are prohibited from soliciting fares, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. Upon speaking to the operator, the operator stated, “Those are my friends. I know them.” Officers arrested Abdolmajid Nostafavi, 51, of West Roxbury and charged him with violating the Boston Vehicle for Hire Ordinance.
SOUTHIE URINATOR ALMOST DRENCHES TWO
At about 6:52pm, on Saturday, June 14, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for underage individuals attempting to buy alcohol in the area of East Broadway and K Streets. On arrival, officers, instead, observed a white male sitting on the stoop in front of 674 East Broadway urinating onto the public sidewalk below. As the suspect was urinating, several citizens were walking in the immediate area. As officers approached the area, they noticed two individuals walking, unknowingly, towards the suspects arching stream of urine. Officers quickly yelled to the citizens thus alerting and enabling them to avoid being struck by the golden sprinkling. Officers arrested Donald Kalil, 50, of Boston and charged him with Open & Gross Lewdness and Indecent Exposure. When asked to explain his actions, the suspect told officers, “I had to go real bad.”
LATE NITE PARTY LANDS FIVE IN POLICE CUSTODY
At about 4:09am, Saturday, June 14, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a loud party near Tremont and Winter Streets in Boston. Upon exiting their cruisers, officers could instantly hear loud music emanating from a building located at 131 Tremont Street. Specifically, officers were able to determine that the music was coming from the 2nd floor of the location. Upon reaching the 2nd floor and entering the location, officers observed a large group (approximately 60 – 80 people) drinking and dancing. Upon locating the person responsible for the party, officers informed the individual that, due to several calls to 911 complaining about the noise, the party needed to come to an end. However, as partygoers were exiting the location, several began to get verbally combative and abusive towards the officers on scene. Said one partygoer, ”We don’t have to move .. we aint going anywhere.” In short time, a fight broke out between several individuals attending the party.
Officers arrested Jemell Cole, 31, of Jersey City, NJ; Vincent Lanier, 26, of New York; William Eddins, 25, of Somerville; Jamel Mims, 22, of Washington, DC; Owen Lumadede, 22, of Boston and charged all five with Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
