Not a Wonderful Day in the NeighborhoodAt approximately 6:335PM last night, officers from District A-1 (Downtown and Charlestown) responded to a radio call for an assault in progress at 84 Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown.
On arrival, officers were met by the victim who was crying and suffering from a laceration to her shoulder. The victim told officers that she had been assaulted by her neighbor after an argument over trash. The victim and her sister who share an apartment reported to officers that they were sitting inside their home when they heard their glass sliding door open and their neighbor dump a plastic bag of trash inside their house. The victim reported that she in turn took the bag of trash outside and placed in front of her neighbor’s door. The victim and her neighbor share a common deck and apparently have been arguing about leaving trash on the deck.
The victim reported that after she placed the trash bag in front of the suspect’s door, he came out, confronted her and threatened to throw her off the 2nd floor deck. The victim informed officers that her neighbor then attacked her, knocking her to the ground causing to suffer the laceration to her shoulder. The victim reported that she grabbed a nearby 2X4 to defend herself when the suspect grabbed it from her and threw it at her as she retreated back to her house to call the police.
Suspect, Brian P. Guarnieri, 34, of Charlestown was arrested and charged him with Assault and Battery, and Breaking and Entering in the Daytime after he admitted to the facts as told by the victim and witness.
Just Trying to keep Cool
Last night around 6:47PM, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park and Roslindale) responded to 1377 Hyde park Ave. in Hyde Park/Shaw’s Supermarket and arrested suspect, Daniel Majors, 30, of Worcester charging him with Shoplifting, and Possession of Class D.
Officers prior to arresting the suspect learned that he came to the store and went to the seafood department. The suspect then ordered an amount of scallops and chicken lobster. The suspect after receiving the seafood then went to an aisle in the store, concealed the items in his short pockets, and attempted to walk out of the store without paying for the items. The suspect was detained by store loss prevention personnel until officers arrived on scene and placed him under arrest.
The suspect at the booking station was observed to have something in his mouth that he was trying to swallow. The item was retrieved and subsequently determined to be marijuana, a class D substance.
