At about 8:44pm, on Saturday, May 17, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 12 Weaver Court in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, Sheikh Kakay, 22, of Roxbury, was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced.After an exhaustive investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident, Boston Police homicide detectives, yesterday, applied for and were granted an arrest warrant charging Darius Washington, 18, of Roxbury with Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Earlier today (Sunday, June 1, 2008) members of the Boston Police Youth Violence Strike Force located and arrested the suspect in Roxbury.
Darius Washington will be arraigned tomorrow, Monday, June 2, 2008, at Roxbury District Court.
