DAILY INCIDENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 2008

THREE STRIKES AND YOU’RE UNDER ARREST FOR BREAKING & ENTERING At about 9:36pm, on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 19 Kenilworth Street in Roxbury. While en route to the call, officers were informed, via Channel 3 of the police radio, that the suspect was still inside of the residence. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that an unknown black male was currently inside of her apartment. According to the victim, upon entering her bedroom, she was startled when she observed an individual (described as a light skinned black male, 5\’10\”, wearing a black hat, brown and blue sweater, black backpack) looking through her closet. After conducting a protective sweep of the location, officers were unable to locate a suspect. Officers also spoke to witnesses who stated that they observed an unknown light-skinned black male, wearing a two-tone sweater, black hat and backpack, walking away from the building. A search of the immediate area for the suspect proved unsuccessful.
Approximately thirty minutes later at about 10:10pm, officers responded to a second breaking and entering in the area of Kenilworth Street. Upon arriving at the second location, officers learned that the suspect in this, the second incident, matched the description of the suspect from the earlier incident. Again, a description of the suspect was broadcast over Channel 3 of the police radio, but again, a search of the area proved unsuccessful.
Approximately thirty minutes later, officers responded to a third call for a breaking and entering in the area of 46 Guild Street. While en route to the call, officers located an individual matching the suspect from the earlier incidents. After the suspect was positively identified by several witnesses, officers arrested Gary Phillips, 43, of Dorchester and charged him with two counts of Breaking & Entering a Dwelling (nighttime).
