CAR BREAKER ARRESTED IN BRIGHTONAt about 1:31am, on Monday, May 19, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a male breaking into a motor vehicle in the area of 416 Market Street. On arrival, officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect. Moreover, officers observed the suspect attempting to rip a license plate off the rear of a car. According to witnesses, the suspect also broke a mirror off the car. Officers observed extensive damage to the motor vehicle. Officers arrested Patrick Sand, 26, of Brighton and charged him with Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
MAN WITH BOX CUTTER ARRESTED IN HYDE PARK
At about 4:50pm, on Monday, May 19, 2008, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a person breaking into a motor vehicle in the area of 74 Central Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke to the owner of the car who stated he saw a person breaking into his car so he went outside to confront the suspect. When he confronted the suspect, the suspect slashed his arm with a sharp object. Victim told officers that the sharp object appeared to be a box cutter. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect over Channel 4 of the Boston Police radio. In short time, officers located an individual fitting the description of the suspect. After an extensive foot pursuit, officers arrested Alfredo Vazquez, 38, of Hyde Park and charged him with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). During the foot pursuit, officers observed the suspect toss the weapon. Officers were able to located and recover a box cutter.
POLICE SEEK YOUR HELP IN LOCATING A HIT-N-RUN SUSPECT
At about 2:14am, on Sunday, May 18, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Congress and North Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that the victim was walking across the street in the area of Faneuil Hall when he was struck by a black motor vehicle (a black Cadillac SRX Crossover), which then fled the scene. According to witnesses, the black motor vehicle fled up Congress Street before taking a turn onto Court Street. The victim was transported to Mass General Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
