At approximately 8:44pm on the night of May 17, 2008, officers from District B-2 (Dorchester and Mattapan) responded to 12 Weaver Court in Roxbury for reports of a person shot.On arrival, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS transported the victim to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the victim, Sheikh Kakay, 22, of Roxbury, eventually succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced. Mr. Kakay is the city’s 22nd homicide victim of 2008.
