DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2008

“DON’T YOU GUYS HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO?”At about 1:31am, on Friday, May 2, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) observed two individuals who appeared to be intoxicated walking in the area of Brighton and Harvard Avenues. When the individuals turned the corner, officers immediately heard several loud, crashing noises. Upon turning the corner, officers observed approximately eight newspaper boxes (the metal containers used to dispense newspapers/magazines) lying in the street. Additionally, one of the boxes was leaning against a motor vehicle. Upon closer inspection, officers were able to observe damage to the motor vehicle (scratches) resulting from the contact with the newspaper box. When officers approached the suspects, the suspects became verbally belligerent. When asked to explain their actions, one of the suspects stated, “Don’t you guys have anything better to do?” Instead of asking the same question of the suspects, officers instead arrested Ryan Buckley, 30, of Allston and Elie Whitney, 35, of Haverhill and charged both with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
SCOOTER VANDAL ARRESTED DOWNTOWN
At about 1:50am, on Friday, May 2, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a breaking & entering in the area of 242 Cambridge Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated he heard a loud noise outside his window and when he looked to see what caused the noise, he saw an individual vandalizing his motor scooter. When the victim approached the suspect, the suspect fled on foot. As a result, the victim followed suspect on his scooter until police showed up on scene. When officers approached the suspect, the suspect became combative both physically and verbally. After a brief struggle, officers arrested David Cornish, 19, of Boston and charged him with Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Resisting Arrest
ARMED ROBBER ARRESTED IN ROXBURY
At about 7:50pm, on Thursday, May 1, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a robbery at 48 Edgewood Street. On arrival, officers located and spoke to the victim who stated that she was walking home when the suspect approached her, showed a weapon and demanded her cell phone and money. Officers soon located an individual matching the description of the suspect. While the suspect was being detained, the victim was brought to the scene so as to make a positive identification of the suspect. After the suspect was positively identified, officers arrested Markeem Bishop, 21, of Roxbury and charged him with Armed Robbery.
