ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED ON BOYLSTON STREETAt about 11:25am, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, an officer performing a paid detail in the area of 39 Boylston Street was notified of a verbal altercation near the front entrance to the St Francis House. Upon approaching the entrance, the officer observed one individual punch and kick another. While separating the combatants, the victim stated, “He stole my $80.00.” At this point, the suspect attempted to flee the scene. After a brief foot pursuit, responding officers were able to apprehend the suspect. Officers arrested Taris Wilson, 37, of Boston and charged him with Unarmed Robbery and Assault & Battery By Means of a Dangerous Weapon (foot).
B&E SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN THE BACK BAY
At about 11:04 am, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 163 Beacon Street in the Back Bay. While en route to the incident, the police dispatcher told officers that a witness was following the suspect along Newbury Street. Moreover, a description of the suspect (a 6’0” black male, bald, carrying a black bag, wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans, blue and white sneakers) was broadcast to all responding officers. In short time, officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect. After being positively identified by the victim, officers arrested Lowell Keith Ward, 50, of Roslindale and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Residence (Daytime) and the Possession of Burglarious Tools. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover a screwdriver, an undisclosed number of CDs and DVDs, a laptop computer.
UNARMED ROBBER ARRESTED IN DORCHESTER
At about 3:09pm, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of 330 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester. While en route to the call, a description of the suspect (a black female with braided hair, wearing a white and blue sweater and baby blue jeans) was broadcast to all responding officers over the police radio. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated the suspect walked up from behind her and stated, “Let me get your earrings.” The suspect then proceeded to steal the victim’s earring and cell phone. In short time, officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect. After the individual was positively identified, officers arrested Shamkeia Harvey, 29, of Dorchester and charged her with Unarmed Robbery. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover the victim’s earring and cell phone.
