The Boston Police Department is currently investigating four different bank robberies which have taken place between February 25, 2008 and yesterday, March 25, 2008. These bank robberies have occurred in both the South End and Downtown areas of Boston between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Based on a preliminary investigation, the incidents appear to be related.Incident Description:
• 2/25/08 @ 10:55am, Sovereign Bank located at 67 Beacon Street
The bank is robbed by a suspect passes a note. The suspect is described as a white, non-Hispanic male with slim build approximately 30 years old with slim build about 5’10” in height who flees the bank in a blue sedan after getting an unspecified amount of cash..
• 3/14/08 @ 3:12pm, Citizens’ Bank located at 560 Commonwealth Avenue
The bank is robbed by a suspect who passes a note alleging that he has a gun. The suspect, similarly described as the above suspect, except for the fact that he is said to have clear tape on his fingers, receives money from the clerk and flees the bank.
• 3/22/08 @ 12:56pm, Citizen’s Bank located at 607 Boylston Street
The bank is robbed by a suspect described as a slim, white, non-Hispanic male in his late 30’s demands money from the bank clerk and threatens possession of a gun. The suspect receives an amount of cash and flees the bank.
• 3/25/08 @ 1:00pm, Mercantile Bank located at 1320 Washington Street
The bank is robbed of an unspecified amount of money by a suspect described as a white male, age 30-35, slim build, standing about 5’7” in height with fingertips covered with clear tape. The suspect robs the bank by passing a note suggesting that he has a gun and demands money. The suspect receives the money and flees the scene in a blue colored sedan.
