Last night around 7:00pm, an officer performing a paid detail at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1100 Dorchester Ave. observed an individual exit the store and activate the security sensor.
The detail officers stopped the individual and asked him if there was anything in his bag (a large brown paper bag) that could have activated the sensor. Further inspection of the suspect’s bag revealed him to be in possession of four watches stolen from the store. In addition, the suspect had a pair of sunglasses on his head that still had the store tag attached to them. The officer then asked the suspect where he got the stolen items and he responded stating that he did not know how they got in his bag and that someone must have put them there. The items were recovered and identified by store personnel as store stock items.
