DAILY INCIDENTS FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2008

ROUTINE CAR STOP LEADS TO GUN ARRESTAt about 11:30pm, on Monday, February 25, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) observed a motor vehicle make an illegal left turn at the intersection of Epping and Washington Streets. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. When asked to produce a license and registration, the operator of the motor vehicle stated, “My mom rented it.” The operator then handed the rental agreement to the officer. Upon inspecting the rental agreement, officers discovered that the agreement listed the operator’s mother as the only authorized user. Furthermore, when officers checked to see if the operator had a license to operate, officers learned that the operator had no license. Officers then asked both occupants to exit the vehicle. While conducting a motor vehicle inventory search, officers discovered and seized a firearm. Upon discovering the firearm, the suspects attempted to flee. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend one of the suspects. Officers arrested Clarence McGregor, 19, of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The other suspect was able to make good his escape.
UNARMED ROBBERY LANDS TWO JUVENILES IN POLICE CUSTODY
At about 6:31pm, on Monday, February 25, 2008, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to radio call for a fight in the area of 35 Harvard Avenue. On arrival, officers observed four black males running from the scene. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend and detain two of the four suspects. As officers were questioning the suspects, the victim was brought to the scene. Once on scene, the victim was able to positively identify the suspects. According to the victim, the suspects surrounded him, pushed him to the ground and demanded money. The victim also stated that one of the suspects punched and kicked. Officers observed red marks on the victim’s face. Officers arrested a 13 year-old male from Hyde Park and a 14 year-old male from Mattapan and charged both with Unarmed Robbery and Assault & Battery.
