Pump and Have Your Car Driven AwayAbout 11:04am yesterday, Monday, February 18, 2008, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an assault and battery in progress at 273 Berkeley St. in Boston.
On arrival, officers observed two individuals fighting in the parking lot of the Mobil Gas Station. The two parties were separated and officers spoke to both parties. Officers determined after speaking to the victim that she had pumped her gas and walked over to pay for her gas when the suspect jumped in her car and attempted to drive away. The victim reported that when she observed the suspect driving away in her car, she ran up to the car to confront the suspect. The suspect, per the victim, then struck her several times in the face. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect and victim engaged in an altercation.
The suspect, Overton B. Hunter, 50, of Boston was arrested and charged with Carjacking, and Assault and Battery.
Car Ornament Collection Lands Three Juveniles in Jail
Around 7:19am yesterday, officers from district A-7 (East Boston) were on patrol when they observed several teens walking out from a fenced in commercial area at 151 Orleans Street.
Officers topped the suspects to further investigate where they were coming from. The suspects were evasive and attempted to move away from officers as they asked them some questions. When asked if they had any weapons, one of the suspects produced a folding knife. During a pat frisk of the suspects and subsequent conversation with the suspects, they admitted to having taken a found Honda emblem off of a car. Further investigation of the suspects yielded emblems from a Volkswagen, Dodge, Scion, Saturn, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Mazda vehicles along with a bottle of Bacardi rum. During a check of the area where the suspects were first observed, officers located a screwdriver.
After a thorough investigation, officers discovered that the emblems had been stolen from numerous cars in the area, and three of those vandalized cars were found. Three juvenile suspects were arrested; two15 year-olds and 16 year-old, all from East Boston were arrested and charged with Willful and Malicious Destruction of Property.

At approximately 3:14am this morning, officers from District B-3 on patrol conducted a random query of a car stopped at the red light at Blue Hill Ave. and Morton Street.
Based on that query, officers discovered that the owner’s license status was suspended. Having gotten that information, officers conducted a traffic stop at that location. Officers approached the operator of the car and informed him of the reason for the stop. The operator just kept repeating, “I’m sorry!” when asked for his license. The operator provided officers with a registration but no license Check of the operator’s license confirmed it to be suspended.
The operator, Cristian Martinex, 28, of Jamaica Plain was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Suspension.
B&E Suspect Alleges Job Interview after Arrest
This morning around 6:15am, officers from District D-14 (Allston and Brighton) received a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 90 Western Ave. in Brighton.
On arrival, officers met and spoke to two employees of Romar Transportation who had a suspect detained. The witnesses reported coming to work and finding the suspect hiding in the warehouse. The suspect initially told the witnesses that he would leave and that he was simply looking for work unloading trucks. As officers and witnesses spoke with the suspect, he then informed them that he had an interview scheduled but could not give a name or an address for his interview.
The suspect, Peter A. Escott, 35, of Medford was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering.
