Be Careful What You Keep in Your PocketsAbout 10:10pm last night, February 13, 2008, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to 174 O’Callaghan Way in South Boston to arrest an individual wanted on several outstanding warrants.
On arrival, officers were allowed entry into the apartment and located the individual wanted on the warrants. Before affecting the arrest, officers asked the suspect if he had any identification and he responded by removing an envelope and a new social security card from his pocket and handed it to officers. Officers made note that the social security card did not belong to the suspect and questioned him about the owner of the card. The suspect answered that the card belonged to his wife. The suspect, knowing that the social security card was not his wife’s quickly attempted to pass it off to someone in the room.
The suspect, Jerome L. Hunter, 33, of New Bedford was arrested and transported to the station on numerous outstanding warrants for Operating after Revocation, Destruction of Personal Property, Forgery of Records, Larceny Over $250, and another warrant for Operating after Suspension/Revocation. Once at the station, officers were able to determine that the card that the suspect had in his possession had been reported stolen. The suspect was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff and I Will Kick Your Door In
At approximately 11:14pm lat night, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress on West 4th St. in South Boston. Officers were also informed that the suspect had gotten out of a white car that was double parked in front of 442 West 4th Street.
On arrival, officers located the car and the suspect. Officers then observed that the door to 449 West 4th St. was wide open and the frame of door had been damaged. Officers spoke to witnesses who reported hearing loud music coming from the suspect’s car, and then observed the suspect kicking the car, and then kicking the door of 449 West 4th Street. Officers later determined the building that the suspect had kicked in the door to was vacant.
The suspect, Mark C. Sinawski, 46, of South Boston was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Night, and Destruction of Property.
Early Valentine’s Day Celebration Lands One in Jail
About 12:10am today, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) went to 102 Greenbrier St. in Dorchester in response to a call for an assault by means of a dangerous weapon/steel pot.
On scene, officers spoke to a number of witnesses on scene who reported that they were all having cocktails together celebrating Valentine’s Day when a fight started between the suspect and the victim. The witnesses further reported that the victim was washing dishes when she and the suspect exchanged some words. Per witnesses, the argument escalated to the point that the victim took a swing at the suspect. The suspect, in turn, picked up an aluminum saucepan from the sink area and repeatedly struck the victim in the back of the head.
Suspect, Addad Okoddaford, 41, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Darkness Doesn’t Provide Enough Cover for B&E Suspects
This morning around 12:38am, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain and Roxbury) arrested suspects, Rafael A. Guzman, 17, and David Sosa, 23 both of Roxbury and charged them with Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle. Suspect, Guzman, was additionally charged with Possession of Class D for marijuana found on his person during the booking process.
Officers were initially dispatched to 81 Walnut Park Ave. for a breaking and entering motor vehicle incident in progress. While en route, officers were updated with descriptions of two suspects and their direction of flight. Almost immediately after getting this information, officers located two individuals matching the suspects’ description in the direction that officers had been told that the suspects fled.
The suspects were detained while officers returned to the scene of the crime. At the scene, officers found a witness who reported to officers that the suspects had been seen breaking into a car in possession of a screwdriver. The suspects were positively identified by the witness after which officers located the car that had been broken into, a radio removed from the car, needle nose pliers and a screwdriver used by suspects to break into the car.
