At 2:33pm yesterday, Monday, February 12, 2008, officers from District C-11 responded to 25 Wainwright St. in Dorchester for a person shot.On arrival, officers located a young black male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center via ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced. The victim has been identified as Kendell Floyd, 17, of Dorchester.
Shortly after officers responded to the shooting incident, the Boston Police Homicide Unit along with officers and detectives from District C-11 took on a joint investigation under the direction of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. As a result of that investigation, officers were quickly able to gather sufficient evidence and affect an arrest. Based on that evidence, officers arrested suspect, Rashard Monroe, 17, of Dorchester and charged him with Manslaughter, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and unlawful Possession of Ammunition
