ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO GUN ARREST At about 4:54pm, on Friday, February 1, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) on patrol in the area of Crawford Street and Walnut Avenue observed a motor vehicle traveling at an unreasonable rate of speed. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. While speaking to the operator of the motor vehicle, officers noted that the operator of the car was breathing heavily and appeared to be nervous. Additionally, officers were able to detect an odor of marijuana coming from within the motor vehicle. When asked if there were any weapons inside the car, the operator replied, “Don’t I have a right to a lawyer.” After being made aware of his Miranda rights, the operator was asked to exit the motor vehicle. A search of the motor vehicle enabled officers to recover a black semiautomatic firearm, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of crack cocaine. Officers arrested Willie Greene, 27, of Roxbury and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Trafficking a Class B Drug (crack cocaine), Possession with the Intent to Distribute Class D Drug (marijuana)
