Robbery Suspect Arrested for Trying to Sell Same Stolen Phone to VictimAbout 5:54pm, officers from District D-14 (Brighton and Allston) responded to 1673 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton for a robbery.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that he had worked an agreement to meet with the suspect and sell him his cell phone. The arrangement had been made via Craig’s List. The victim reported that the suspect showed up, and when he showed him the cell phone, the suspect punched him and fled with the phone.
A search of the area was made but the suspect was not found. However, later that night around 9:03pm, the victim contacted officers again and requested that officers meet him. On scene, the victim told officers that he had contacted the suspect via Craig’s List and made arrangements to purchase his stolen cell phone. The suspect had supplied him with a phone number, not knowing that it was his victim from earlier, and agreed to meet him and sell the victim his own cell phone. The victim told officers that he had made arrangements with the suspect to meet him on Fuller St. in Brookline.
On Fuller St., plain-clothes Boston police officers accompanied by Brookline officers approached the suspect and identified themselves as police officers. The suspect was positively identified by the suspect and his cell phone recovered.
Suspect, Jonathan Sheparson-Legere, 19, of Allston was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery.

Yesterday evening, at approximately 7:46pm, an officer performing a detail at the Stop & Shop located at 1100 Massachusetts Ave. arrested suspect, Elizabeth Moten, 48, of Dorchester and charged her Forgery and Uttering a False Bank Check.
The officer was first alerted to the suspect around 6:50pm when she first came to the Customer Service booth and attempted to cash a check that “looked suspicious.” At this time, the officer responded to the Customer Service booth and informed the suspect that she could not cash the check because she did not have proper identification. The suspect only had a copy of a Massachusetts identification card. Later, around 7:21 the suspect returned and again tried to cash the same check. Again, the detail officer was summoned and observed the suspect sign the same check to be cashed.
The officer then placed the suspect under arrest due to the fact that the check was forged. The suspect, after being placed under arrest, stated that she had been asked to cash the check with the promise that she would receive part of the money.
Cab Fare Turns to Carjacking Suspect
About 2:22am this morning, officers from District B-2 (Dorchester and Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a carjacking in progress at 620 Huntington Ave. in Roxbury.
On arrival, officers met with the victim, a cab driver, who reported that a fare he had picked up, had carjacked him. The victim further reported that he had picked up the suspect accompanied by two friends at the intersection of Huntington Ave. and Exeter Street. At about 620 Huntington Avenue, the victim reported that he exited the cab to open the door for the suspect to exit the cab when the suspect punched him in the head, jumped in the driver’s seat and drove away.
While talking to officers, the victim directed officers’ attention to a passing cab and told officers that it was his cab. Officers successfully stopped the vehicle a short distance from it had first been observed and placed the operator under arrest. The victim positively identified the operator as the person who had assaulted him and stolen his cab.
Suspect, John David Maurer, 27, of Boston was arrested and charged with Carjacking, Assault and Battery, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident for hitting another car and fleeing while he was operating the stolen cab.
