DAILY INCIDENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23, 2008

CAR BREAKERS ARRESTED DOWNTOWNAt about 12:43am, on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person breaking into motor vehicles in the area of Lincoln Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she observed two individuals breaking into her car. According to the victim, one of the suspects picked up a rock and threw it through the window of her motor vehicle. The victim stated that one of the suspects, a Hispanic male, was carrying two backpacks. Officers quickly broadcast a description of the officers over the police radio. A short time later, officers located two individuals who matched the description provided by the victim. Officers brought the one of the suspects back to the scene of crime where the victim positively identified him. The victim told officers, “That’s the guy who smashed my window.” Officers arrested Michael Juskowiak, 32, of Malden and Raymond Castillo, 28, of Waltham and charged both with Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicle.
DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE LANDS ONE IN CUSTODY
At about 8:16am, on Wednesday, January 23, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) observed a motor vehicle straddling the center line in the area of 25 Bennington Street. As a result of the infraction, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. When officers approached the car and asked the operator to produce a license, the operator replied, “I don’t have one.” Officers arrested Mario Sifontes, 19, of East Boston and charged him with Operating Without Being Licensed.
DRUG TRANSACTION LEADS TO THREE ARRESTS IN SOUTH BOSTON
At about 12:43am, on January 23, 2008, members for the Area C Neighborhood Drug Unit were on patrol when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction in the area of the Broadway MBTA Station. Officers observed an individual walk up to a truck, make a transaction and then walk away. As a result, officers attempted to stop the motor vehicle. Once the vehicle was stopped, officers approached the car on foot. However, as officers were approaching the car, the car fled. A short time later, officers were able to relocate the motor vehicle. Upon relocating the car, officers observed that the motor vehicle had struck two motor vehicles. None of the occupants in the suspect’s motor vehicle required or needed medical attention. An undisclosed amount of cocaine and crack was recovered from the suspect’s motor vehicle. Officers arrested Stephen Dinan, 20, of Braintree, Matthew Tierney, 23, of Quincy, and Justine Mingosa, 19, of Rockland and charged all three with the Possession and Intent to Distribute Drugs (Class A & Class B).
NOTE: Please be advised that the above listed incident occured in February of 2007, and that suspect, Stephen Dinan, was only arrested on 1/22/08 due to an outstanding warant that resulted from the original incident when he failed to appear for court.
