UNARMED ROBBER ARRESTED IN ROXBURYAt about 7:57pm, on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for an Assault & Battery in progress in the area of Hancock and Dudley Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she had just entered a walk-in ATM when a woman knocked on the door and demanded entry. The victim says she refused to allow the suspect in. However, a short time later, an unknown black male pulled out an ATM card, opened the door, allowed the suspect to enter and then walked away. Upon entering the ATM, the suspect pushed the victim, grabbed her bag and fled. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio. Soon after, officers located an individual matching the description provided by the victim. After being positively identified by the victim, officers arrested Jacqueline Phillips, 33, of Dorchester and charged her with Unarmed Robbery.
BARRIER BUSTER ARRESTED IN SOUTH BOSTON
At about 3:02am, on Tuesday, January 1, 2007, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) observed a white female exit the passenger-side of car and move a Police barrier which was restricting access to various streets in South Boston due to a fire at 309 Emerson Street. After seeing her move the barrier, officers approached the female suspect and told her why the street was closed. While speaking to the woman, officers observed that she appeared to be intoxicated. Upon receiving the explanation, the female suspect began yelling and swearing profanities at the officers. Specifically, the woman told the officers that, because she paid taxes, she could move any barrier she wanted. When officers again told the suspect that the street was closed, the woman exited the motor vehicle that she was a passenger in. As she was walking away from the scene, she again began yelling at the officers. Specifically, she told the officers that she would be coming back, and, when she returned, she’d move the barriers again. Approximately 15 minutes later, the female returned with her dog. As promised, the woman walked over to the barriers and knocked them over. When officers approached her, she began swearing at them. Officers arrested Karen Bartolomei, 36, of South Boston and charged her with Being a Disorderly Person.
