Nicotine Craving Lands Smoker in JailYesterday, December 30, 2007 around 5:06pm, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park and Roslindale) arrested suspect, Tyrekia S. Teixeira, 17, of Roxbury and charged her with Shoplifting.
Officers initially responded to 991 River St. for a larceny in progress. There, officers spoke to the owner/victim who reported that a customer stole a pack of cigarettes and fled the store. A description of the female suspect was broadcast, and a short time later an individual matching the suspect description was located at the intersection of Huntington and Westminster Streets. Officers approached that individual and she stated “I !$@*^ up, I needed the cigarettes!” The suspect was returned to the location of the victim where she was positively identified, and the cigarettes recovered from her person.
B&E Suspects Caught Trying to Sell Stolen Goods by Off-Duty Officer
At approximately 5:44pm yesterday, officers from District A-1 responded to 228 Hanover Street in Boston to assist an off duty officer.
On arrival, officers met and spoke to an off-duty officers who reported that he observed two individuals, one of whom looked like a suspect wanted on a police BOLO (Be On the Look Out), attempting to sell a GPS system. The officer successfully stopped the two individuals to determine whether or not one was indeed the person wanted on the police BOLO. Based on the threshold inquiry, officers determined that one of the two suspects was in possession of what appeared to be a stolen GPS system, and the other still had pieces of broken car glass in his coat, along with the other components to the GPS system. Neither suspect was in possession of a receipt for the GPS, nor could they explain where they had gotten the GPS. After briefly talking to the suspects, one admitted that they had broken into a car earlier, and stole the GPS system.
Suspect, Philip G. Carter, 25, of Burlington was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools for a screwdriver found on his person. Suspect, Daniel P. Mulcahey, 23, also of Burlington was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
B&E Suspect Arrested Before Striking
Yesterday around 9:54pm, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to the area of Marion and Princeton Streets for two suspicious individuals looking into random cars attempting to open the doors to the cars.
Responding officers in an unmarked car observed the one individual in the 160 area of Princeton St. climb onto several large box trucks, look into the cabs, and attempt to open their locked compartments. Officers then continued their observation and noted that the suspect also went to a smaller passenger car, and also attempt to enter that car by pulling on their doors.
Officers stopped suspect, Marlon Ochoa, 22, of East Boston and placed him under arrest for Attempted Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle based on the observations made and the call received by 911 operators.
“I Have to Have My Whopper”
Last night, Sunday, December 30, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Dorchester and Roxbury) arrested suspect, Jonathan S. Sanders, 18, of Dorchester and charged him with Disorderly, Assault and Battery and Possession of Class D.
Officers assigned to District B-2 Grove Hall Safe Street Team were on patrol in the area of 100 Washington St. in Dorchester around 10:20pm when security officers inside Burger King summoned them. Officers quickly responded and assisted security officers with a struggling suspect.
After securing the suspect, officers learned that the suspect had been one of about twelve people who had been in the Burger King earlier loitering, and had been ordered out with an order not to return. According to security officers, the suspect returned a short time later despite the previous orders and attempted to push his way past them, and assaulted them. The suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to the District station for booking where during the booking process, several bags of marijuana was found on his person.
