LOUD PARTY LANDS FOUR IN CUSTODYAt about 1:40am, on December 16, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a loud party in the area 35 Hanson Street. On arrival, officers, upon exiting their cruisers, could hear music emanating from the above address. After locating the apartment, officers knocked on the door. When the occupants of the apartment opened the door, officers told them that the music was too loud and needed to be turned down. When told to turn the music down, the occupants of the apartment quickly refused and began to verbally berate the officers. The occupants of the apartment told officers, “We’re not doing anything wrong and no one is going to leave.” Officers observed approximately 15 – 20 people inside the apartment. As a result of the suspects’ belligerent behavior and unwillingness to comprehend the seriousness of the issue, officers decided to shut the party down. Again, the party-goers refused to heed the officer’s instructions.
As a result, officers arrested Lisa Watson, 27, of Boston; Kimberly Friday, 26, of Boston; Kristin Stephenson, 28, of Boston and Amy Gray, 27, of Boston and charged all four with Disturbing the Peace.
TWO ARMED ROBBERS ARRESTED ON AREA D-4
At about 1:50am, on Sunday, December 16, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of the Southwest Corridor. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was approached by three males who stopped him and demanded all of his money. Officers quickly broadcast a description of the suspects over Channel 5 of the police radio. Shortly thereafter, officers located individuals matching the description provided by the victim. However, as officers approached the suspects, the suspects fled on foot before entering a motor vehicle. Officers quickly broadcast a description of the motor vehicle over Channel 5 of the police radio. A short time later, officers located and stopped the motor vehicle. While officers were speaking to the suspects, officers learned that there had been two incidents. Officers were able to locate and speak to a 2nd victim. According to the 2nd victim, he was robbed at knife point by two individuals. The descriptions provided by the 2nd victim matched the descriptions of the suspects who had fled in the motor vehicle.
After being positively identified, officers arrested Eric Vick, 17, of Boston and James Berger, 19, of Hyde Park and charged both with Armed Robbery.
CAR STOP LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS AND THE RECOVERY OF TWO FIREARMS
At about 6:30pm, on Monday, December 17, 2007, officers from Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Westminster Avenue. Officers observed the motor vehicle as it narrowly missed coming into contact with their unmarked police cruiser. Officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. When officers asked the operator to produce a license, the operator stated, ”I don’t have one.” Before placing the suspect in custody for operating without a driver’s license, officers searched the suspect and discovered a firearm in the suspect’s rear pocket. Officers arrested Triston Jules, 21, of Dorchester and charged him with Operating Without Being Licensed and the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
In addition to the operator of the motor vehicle, officers searched the individual sitting in the front passenger seat. As the passenger was exiting the car, he left his jacket lying in the front seat. When asked why he left the jacket on the seat, given the cold weather, the suspect stated, “It’s not mine.” A search of the jacket produced a 2nd firearm. As a result, officers arrested Joshua Edwards, 22, of Dorchester and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
