Yesterday at approximately 4:30pm, E-5 (West Roxbury) officers on patrol witnessed a motor vehicle strike a pedestrian at the intersection of Washington Street and West Boundary Road. The operator of the motor vehicle came to an abrupt stop approximately twenty feet from the intersection, exited the motor vehicle, and ran back to the victim. Officers activated their lights and sirens and responded to the intersection to render aid to the victim. An elderly white female was found lying by the crosswalk and was observed to be conscious but suffering from severe injuries.An ambulance driving by the scene stopped and treated the victim on-scene. Boston fire and EMS also responded. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The Boston Police will not release the victim’s identity, pending family notifications.
