At about 2:29am, on Saturday, November 17, 2007, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a fight at 14 Glenville Avenue in Brighton. While investigating the fight inside the address, officers received information about a white male lying in the rear of the above address. After locating the victim, the victim was transported to Brigham & Women’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced. The victim has been identified as Shawn Dow, 21, of Peabody.Autopsy reports have determined that the trauma sustained by Shawn Dow is consistent with a fall and not consistent with injuries sustained as a result of an assault. Detectives interviewed more than twenty witnesses, none of whom placed Mr. Dow in or near the altercation. This incident has been returned to District D-14 detectives and will be investigated as an accidental death.
