TWO ARRESTED FOR DRINKING IN PUBLICAt about 12:58am, on Saturday, November 17, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed a large group of kids drinking from containers while walking along Huntington Avenue. As a result of their observations, officers approached the kids. One of the suspects was drinking from a 12 oz. Bud Light beer can; another was drinking Vodka and water out of a plastic Vitamin Water bottle. Louis Mancini, 22, of Salisbury and Ryan Hartigan, 20, of Boston were arrested and charged with Drinking in Public. Hartigan was also charged with Being a Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
MAN WITH GUN ARRESTED IN ROXBURY
At about 6:00pm, on Saturday, November 17, 2007, members of the Area B Neighborhood Drug Unit (Roxbury/Mattapan) observed what appeared to be a drug transaction in the area of Huntington Avenue and Tremont Street in Roxbury. Officers observed individuals smoking what appeared to be marijuana. In addition to officer’s observations, officers smelled a marijuana-like odor emanating from the motor vehicle occupied by the suspects. As a result of their observations, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in order to stop the car. When the motor vehicle came to a stop, the operator of the car quickly exited the car and fled. While pursuing the suspect on foot, officers observed the suspect repeatedly clutching at his waist area as if carrying a firearm. Just before catching up to the suspect, officers observed the suspect bend down and toss something. The tossed item turned out to be a firearm. Officers arrested Ramon Feliciano, 26, of Jamaica Plain and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition and Possession of a Class D Drug (Marijuana). When told of the gun charge during the booking process, the suspect stated, “I just carry that for protection.”

At about 12:05pm, on Saturday, November 17, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) observed a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker traveling on Melnea Cass Boulevard. As a result of the expired sticker, officer activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an attempt to stop the car. When the motor vehicle came to a stop, officers approached. However, while approaching the car, the operator of the motor vehicle put the car back into drive and fled the scene. Officers immediately broadcast a description of the car over the police radio to any and all units in the immediate area. A short time later, the motor vehicle was located. When officers attempted to stop the car, the operator pulled over, exited the car and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers apprehended the operator of the motor vehicle. Curtis Howell, 27, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Refusing to Stop for a Police Officer, Speeding, Driving to Endanger, Operating Without a License and Operating a Motor Vehicle with an Expired Inspection Sticker.
