Two Arrested On Drug Charges Yesterday at 4:01pm, members of the Drug Control Unit from District D-14 (Allston / Brighton) were in the area of Washington Street and Monastery Road when their attention was drawn to two males sitting in a black vehicle looking down onto their laps. Officers walked by the vehicle and observed the passenger with a folded scratch ticket and a q-tip on his lap. Officers approached the vehicle and identified themselves and observed the driver drop an uncapped hypodermic needle to the floor. Officers recovered a dollar bill from the floor, which contained one open plastic bag of tan powder believed to be heroin.
Mathew Baldwin, 26, and Michael Baldwin, 22, both of Cotuit were arrested and charged with Possession of Class A and Possession of Class C.
Man Arrested After Shoplifting Jacket and Using Vehicle Without Authorization
Yesterday at 5:01pm, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at 221 Border Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that the suspect had taken her car keys and driven off in a white vehicle owned by her boss. The victim further stated that she did not immediately notice that the suspect had taken the keys because he was subtle in his actions. The victim stated while she was inside Tello’s clothing store the suspect grabbed her by the waist and told her that he would be outside. The victim stated she did not notice that the keys were missing from her waist until she heard the store employee say that a man fitting the suspect description had just stolen a brown jacket from the store and had driven off in a white vehicle.
The suspect was described as wearing a red cap and a gray jacket and was heading in the direction of Maverick Square. Officers located the suspect in Maverick Square and brought him back to 221 Border Street for identification.
Officers found a brown jacket, two dresses and new shoes in the back seat of the vehicle. David Todisco, 25, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Larceny From the Person, Shoplifting and Using a Motor Vehicle without Authority. Officers also recovered a pair of white sneakers, new winter hats and socks.
Public Drinking Lands One In Jail
Yesterday around 5:31pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) while assigned to the Grove Hall walking beat at Blue Hill Avenue and Castlegate Road when they observed an individual drinking an alcoholic beverage walking towards them. At that time officer demanded the suspect refrain from drinking the beverage and to discard it. The suspect continued to drink the alcoholic beverage while stating, “I’ll drink my beer because you can’t lock me up.”
Officers then advised the suspect that she was under arrest. The suspect refused to obey verbal commands and became hostile and violent towards the officers. Catherine Mendez, 40, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Disorderly, Resisting Arrest and Drinking Alcoholic Beverages in Public.
