At about 1:00pm, on Saturday, November 10, 2007, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) received a radio call for a fellow officer in trouble. While responding to the call for officer assistance, a department cruiser came into contact with a civilian motor vehicle in the area of West Broadway and D Streets. As a result of the accident, both the civilian operator and a police officer were transported to area hospitals. The civilian operator was transported suffering from life-threatening injuries. That individual has since been pronounced.At the request of Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley and all involved agencies, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this accident.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis stated, “The Boston Police Department extends its’ sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the victims involved in this tragic accident.”
