Today at 12:30pm, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) responded to a radio call for an investigation at 100 Maxwell Street (Thompson Middle School). On arrival, officers spoke with principal and school police who stated that the suspect ignited pepper spray on the third floor of the school. Several staff members and students became ill. Officers observed several students coughing complaining of chest pains. Two students were transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Students were evacuated from the school as a result of the pepper spray. A 15-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried and Disturbing A Public Assembly.
