MAN WITH A KNIFE ARRESTED IN EAST BOSTONAt about 11:25am, on Monday, November 11, 2007, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call to investigate three individuals behaving in a suspicious manner, possibly dealing drugs, in the area of Maverick Square. On arrival, officers observed one of the individuals to be in possession of a knife. Upon further inspection, officers observed a single edged knife well over the legal limit of 2½”. As a result, officers arrested James Smith, 24, of Bangor, ME and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. A search of a second individual produced undisclosed amounts of a Class B Drug (Cocaine). Officers arrested Michael Brown, 32, of Roslindale and charged him with the Possession of a Class B Drug.
CAR THIEF ARRESTED IN DORCHESTER
On Sunday, November 4, 2007, an individual entered the Area E-5 (West Roxbury) to file a stolen motor vehicle report. According to the victim, his car was stolen from the area of 265 Crown Point Drive. Victim described his car as a red Ford Taurus. One day later, on Monday, November 5, 2007, officers from the Governors Auto Theft Strike Force located the stolen motor vehicle in the area of Dunkeld Street in Dorchester. Officers then began surveillance on the car. A short time later, officers observed a black female approach and, then, enter the motor vehicle. Before the suspect could pull away from the curb, officers moved in and contained the suspect. Officers arrested a 15 year-old female from Dorchester and charged her with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Operating without a License.
CAR THIEVES THWARTED IN THE SOUTH END
At about 11:07pm, on Monday, November 5, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a crime in progress. En route the to call, responding units were told that two Hispanic males were in the process of breaking into motor vehicles. Officers then observed two individuals, matching the description of the suspects, driving in a white motor vehicle. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an effort to stop the motor vehicle. Initially, the suspects refused to pull over, but, after getting stuck in traffic, both suspects exited the motor vehicle in an attempt to flee. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend both suspects. Both suspects were brought back to the location where they were first seen attempting to break into motor vehicles. Once brought back to the scene, witnesses were able to positively identify both suspects. Once in custody, officers searched the suspects’ motor vehicle. Officers recovered a mask, a black toy gun and five screwdrivers.
Officers arrested Johnathan Pimental, 21, of Dorchester and Eduardo Matos, 19, of Dorchester and charged both with Possession of Burglarious Tools, Driving to Endanger, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Attempted Auto Theft and Receiving Stolen Goods.
