FOUR ARRESTED FOR SCALPING WORLD SERIES TICKETS At about 7:00pm, on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to the area of Boylston and Hereford Streets for the report of an individual attempting to sell fake World Series tickets. On arrival, officers located the individual believed to be selling the fake tickets. When officers attempted to speak to the individual, the individual became belligerent and took a swing at the officers. Officers arrested Jamel Bennett, 31, of Bronx, NY, and charged him with Assault on a Police Officer, Resale of Tickets, Larceny by Scheme and Possession of a Class D Drug (Marijuana). In addition to the above, officers also arrested Wendell Baker, 43, of Bronx, NY, and charged him with Ticket Scalping and Larceny by Scheme. A search of Bennett produced what appeared to be an undisclosed number of counterfeit tickets.
At about 6:24pm, on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, officers in plain clothes were approached by an individual looking to sell tickets. According to the officers, they were approached by an individual who stated, ”You guys want tickets .. I got 2 for $300.00.” At this point, officers displayed their badges and identified themselves as police officers. Officers then arrested Anthony Hicks, 30, of Albany, NY, and Michael Williams, 40, of Albany, NY, and charged both with Ticket Scalping.
ONE ARRESTED FOR BEING DISORDERLY OUTSIDE FENWAY
At about 7:40pm, on Wednesday, October 25, 2007, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an individual stealing hats from a vendor outside Fenway Park. Officers located the individual responsible for taking the hats, however, the vendor chose not to press charges. While speaking to the suspect, officers observed the suspect to have slurred speech and glassy eyes, both conditions consistent with alcohol consumption. Officers then told the suspect that he had to leave the area or be subject to arrest for trespassing. Approximately ten minutes later, the suspect returned to the area and was placed under arrest. Officers arrested Louis Ruden-McDonough, 27, of Stoughton and charged him with Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct.
GUN POSSESSION LANDS TWO IN CUSTODY IN DORCHESTER
At about 10:08am, on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of Bullard Street in Dorchester. While en route to the call, officers were given a description of the suspects over Channel 6 of the police radio. Officers soon located two individuals matching the descriptions. Officers stopped the suspects in order to question them about the incident. While officers were speaking to the suspects, a witness was brought to the scene. According to the witness, the suspects approached them and brandished a firearm. After the suspects were positively identified by the witness, officers arrested Kevin Lewis, 17, of Dorchester and a 15 year-old from Dorchester and charged both with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
