After a very exhaustive investigation detectives from District B-2 arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male from Roxbury in connection with the shooting of the victim, a 39-year old black male, who affiliated with a youth sporting activity that was occurring at the time of the shooting. Investigative information indicates that the victim and at least one of the suspects had come into contact prior to the actual shooting incident.At 12:28pm on October 13, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury/Mission Hill) responded to a radio call for a report of a person shot at 2700 Washington Street, specifically Washington Park. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. Numerous police units responded to this incident and the victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center. According to witnesses, several individuals approached the victim and fired multiple shots, one of which struck the victim. The victim’s injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The suspect will be charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. The suspect will be arraigned Monday morning in Boston Juvenile Court.
