CAR VANDAL ARRESTED IN SOUTHIEAt about 5:50pm, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) were on patrol in the area of Dorchester Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street when they were approached by an individual who told officers, \”The kid who broke into cars the other night is back.” Officers were well aware of the rash of motor vehicle breaks in the area. After locating the suspect, officers arrested Christopher Chubbuck, 25, of Dorchester and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle. A search of the suspect after the arrest produced two black ipods, a small amount of heroin and a window punch. Officers later learned both ipods had been reported stolen. As a result, the suspect was charged with the Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin), Receiving Stolen Merchandise and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DORCHESTER
At about 2:09am, on Saturday, September 22, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of the Comfort Inn at 900 Morrissey Boulevard. On arrival, officers located an individual suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That individual was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for life threatening injuries. After securing the crime scene, officers were able to secure a copy of the hotel’s security video. Video evidence, as well as, witness corroboration enabled officers to identify a suspect. Detectives then arrested Donald Williams, 23, of Dorchester and charged him with Assault with Intent to Murder, Aggravated Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Discharging a Firearm within 500\’ of a Dwelling.
CAR THIEF ARRESTED IN HYDE PARK
At about 2:15PM, on Thursday, October 10, 2007, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) observed a green Ford Taurus weaving between lanes on Hyde Park Avenue. A check of the motor vehicle’s registration through the cruiser’s MDT (computer) showed the car to be stolen. Officers then activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. While speaking to the operator of the motor vehicle, the driver told officers that the car belonged to his girlfriend. A check of the operator’s license showed that his right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. Officers then arrested James Joseph, 25, of Dorchester and charged him with Operating Without Being Licensed and Receiving Stolen Property (Motor Vehicle).
