DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2007

MAN WITH GUN ARRESTED IN HYDE PARKAt about 6:00pm, on Saturday, October 6, 2007, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) and members of the Area E Neighborhood Drug Unit observed two individuals engaged in what appeared to be drug activity in the area of Friendship Street and Belnel Road. As a result of their observations, officers approached the suspects. When officers identified themselves as police officers, the suspects attempted to flee. In their efforts to escape arrest, one of the suspects dropped a clear plastic bag. The contents of the bag were later identified as marijuana. As officers were attempting to subdue the suspect, the suspect repeatedly reached for an object in his waist area. Officers were able to secure the object, an object that turned out to be a silver-colored handgun. Officers arrested Darryl Riley, 22, of Hyde Park and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer and Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana)
ARMED ROBBER APPREHENDED IN MATTAPAN
At about 5:43pm, on Saturday, October 6, 2007, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) were on patrol in the area of River Street when they heard a man yelling, “He robbed me!” The individual yelling was an employee at the Sunoco Gas Station at 70 River Street. According to the victim, an individual, carrying a firearm, walked into the store and demanded money. The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a black hat and had a blue piece of cloth covering his face. Officers located the suspect, but lost sight of him when he jumped over a fence. An officer from Milton re-located the suspect and was able to apprehend him. A search of the suspect produced a black firearm. Officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of money and an envelope labeled, “Arthur’s Sunoco.” Officers arrested Kyon James, 25, of Dorchester and charged him with Armed Robbery
MOTOR VEHICLE STOP LANDS FOUR IN CUSTODY
At about 2:54am, on Sunday, October 7, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light in the area of Adams Street. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. As officers approached the motor vehicle, officers observed four individuals inside the car. While speaking to the operator of the motor vehicle, officers observed that the operator appeared to be tense and nervous. Given the operator’s behavior, officers determined a need to further investigate the motor vehicle. A search of the motor vehicle and its’ occupants produced two firearms, an ice pick and a silver-colored butterfly knife. No one in the motor vehicle was in possession of a license to carry a firearm. Officers arrested Kenny Mondesir, 17, of Dorchester; Travis Brown, 17, of Dorchester; Daquan Dooley, 18, of Roxbury; Nathas Jacquecin, 19, of Dorchester and charged all four with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
