Shots Fired Call Leads to Firearm ArrestAt approximately 5:42pm yesterday, October 4, 2007, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responding to a call for shots fired were checking the area of Harvard Street and Bernard Street when they observed a motor vehicle make a u-turn and come to a stop facing Talbot Street. A short while later, officers observed a male run towards the car, get in the back seat of this car, and the car take off from this area. In light of the call for shots fired, as well as the proximity of the car and the overall circumstances, officers followed this car and performed a traffic stop at the corner of Talbot Avenue and Westcott Street.
During the traffic stop, the driver of the car admitted to officers that he was not licensed to operate a motor vehicle. During the traffic stop, officers observed the rear passenger place an unknown object behind his seat and refuse to show his hands. All occupants were acting nervous and sweating profusely. Based on the totality of the circumstances, all occupants of the car were removed and frisked.
Officers successfully recovered a firearm and marijuana from the car along with ballistic evidence. Suspect, Vandell S. Mason, 23, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Class D, suspect, and Tyrone Shepherd, 23, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, and Using a motor Vehicle without Authority.
During the search of the suspect subsequent to arrest, officers recovered rental car keys from suspect Mason matching the description of a car that was observed fleeing the area of the shots fired call. Officers located the car matching the keys a short distance from the location of the shots fired call.
Loud Party Lands Five in Jail and Several Others Appearances in Court
About 1:00am today, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a loud party at 71 Pontiac Street in Mission Hill.
On arrival, officers could hear loud music and numerous people talking from the backyard of the residence. Officers entered the backyard through the apartment and there observed a large group of people scattered throughout the premises. Additionally, officers observed numerous bottles of liquor scattered throughout the house along with plastic cups.
Officers arrested suspects Dan Lawless, 21, Kaitlin Caulfield, 20, Michael Gates, 21, Brian Anderson, 20 and Tim Lawless, 21 all of Boston and charged them with Disturbing the Peace and Procuring Alcohol for Minors. Several other individuals will be summonsed to court for Being Minors in Possession of Alcohol.

This morning around 2:20am, officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to a call for a person threatening an employee with a gun at the entrance to the Draft Bar located at 34 Harvard Avenue in Allston.
On arrival, officers spoke to bar personnel who reported that approximately a half an hour before police arrival, two individuals that had been denied entry into the bar and threatened to come back with a firearm. The bar employees stated about ten minutes later they observed the two suspects walking across the street looking into the bar. Fearful that the suspects may have come back to exact their revenge, bar employees called the police.
While on scene, officers observed the two suspects, who quickly walked away. A description of the suspects was broadcast, and they were located standing in the doorway of 16 Harvard Avenue a short time later. Officers observed the wooden frame of the door damaged and the glass was shattered.
Suspects, Thomas D. Ferran, 20, of Allston and Yiga Moses, 18, of Boston were arrested and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property, Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime and Threats to Do Bodily Harm.
