EMT Aids in Carjacking ArrestEarly Monday morning at 12:35am, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a fight at 500 Commonwealth Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that he parked his car and went inside a store to get some soda. While inside the store, the victim heard someone screaming for him outside. The victim stated when he went outside the store he observed his passenger lying on the ground and his vehicle was moved from the spot he had parked in. The victim stated he observed an unknown suspect in the driver’s sear. The victim stated that he rushed in front of the automobile to stop the suspect from driving away with his car. The victim stated he began screaming at the suspect to get out of his car and stated that the suspect then opened the door and got out.
An EMT stated that he observed the suspect walk up to the victim’s car and pull the passenger out of the vehicle and throw her to the ground. At that time he activated his emergency lights on the ambulance and approached the suspect telling the suspect to sit on the curb and stay there. The suspect sat on the curb for a short time and then started to run up Brookline Avenue.
A description of the suspect was broadcast and an individual fitting the description was located at Yawkey Way and Boylston Street. The victim positively identified the suspect. Daniel Murphy, 30, of Paxton was arrested and charged with Carjacking and Assault and Battery.
Suspect Arrested After Attempted Armed Robbery
Yesterday at 5:08pm, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at 3021 Washington Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated as he exited McDonalds three individual approached him and attempted to rob him. The victim stated that one of the suspects demanded his phone, watch, and wallet. The victim stated he refused and attempted to walk away. At that time one of the suspects lifted his sweatshirt and was hold a black handle that the victim believed to be a handgun or a knife. The victim stated he was then pulled towards the rear of a bank but he was able to get away and run back to the McDonalds.
A description of the suspects was broadcast and three individuals fitting the description were observed at Mendell Way and School Street. The victim was able to positively identify one of the suspects. A 14-year-old juvenile from Jamaica Plain was arrested and charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Rob, Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery
Suspect Arrested After Stabbing Downtown
Last night at 6:00pm, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed at Kneeland and Utica Streets. On arrival, officers observed the victim bleeding from the stomach area.
Officers were informed that the suspect approached the victim for no apparent reason and without saying anything walked up to the victim and stabbed him several times in the stomach and the back. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
Harlo Nixon, 25, of Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with Intent to Murder. Mr. Nixon will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
Boston Police “To Catch A Predator”
Last night at 7:27pm, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call to investigate a report of a 28-year-old male from Texas who had traveled to Massachusetts to meet the caller’s 13-year-old daughter. On arrival, officers spoke with the mother who stated that the suspect was sitting in the kitchen and stated that his wallet was stolen and that he did not have any identification on him. The victim’s mother was worried that a 17-year-old wouldn’t be able to get back home and asked him to call his mother. At that time she found out that he was actually a 28-year-old.
When officers spoke with the victim she stated she has been communicating with the suspect by computer since the middle of July and by phone sine the end of August and that he has been telling her that he was coming to see her soon. On Saturday the suspect departed Texas and was texting the victim during the entire trip to Boston. The victim met the suspect and brought him back to her house.
