DAILY INCIDENTS FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007

SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DORCHESTERAt about 1:33am, on Sunday, September 16, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person shot at the intersection of Bowdoin & Tovar Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that they saw a man, wearing a gray sweat suit and riding a bicycle, shoot the victim. Officers then went to the hospital to speak to the victim. Once there, officers showed the suspect a photo array of potential suspects. After viewing the photos, the victim was able to positively identify the suspect. Officers then arrested Otelino Goncalves, 21, of Lynn, and charged him with Assault & Battery By Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

At about 2:13am, on Sunday, September 16, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed an individual who appeared to be highly intoxicated and in need of medical attention in the area of Hillside Street. While awaiting the arrival of an ambulance, officers were approached by an individual who informed officers that he had just observed a white male, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, tag a house with paint. The witness then got into the cruiser and directed officers to where he last saw the suspect. On arrival, officers observed the suspect applying paint to a US Mail Box. When officers approached the suspect, the suspect immediately dropped a can of spray paint (pink in color). Officers arrested Aidan Lindh, 19, of Boston, and charged him with Vandalism (Graffiti).
PELLET GUN LANDS ONE IN CUSTODY
At about 1:51am, on Monday, September 17, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue when they heard people yelling, “He’s got a gun!” Officers quickly exited their cruiser and approached the individual believed to have had the weapon. After searching the suspect, officers were unable to locate a firearm. At this point, a witness came forward and told officers that the suspect had thrown the weapon into a nearby yard. A search of the yard produced a black pellet gun that looked much like a semi automatic firearm. Officers then arrested Jose Alberto Gomes-Rivera, 21, of Dorchester, and charged him with the Disturbing the Peace and Unlawfully Carrying a Dangerous Weapon (Pellet Gun).
