SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO ARRESTAt approximately 10:56pm last night, officers from Area D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrived at 201 Kelton Street to execute a search warrant. The officers were allowed into the apartment by the suspect, who was then questioned about his involvement with a woman known to the Boston Police for her involvement with prostitution. Officers asked about their relationship, to which he replied that he “was a trick of her’s” and had met her through an advertisement in the newspaper. The suspect went on to say that he has allowed her to use his apartment on at least six different occasions to entertain her customers and she paid him $20 on each occasion.
Norman Dempsey, 56, of Brighton was arrested for Allowing Premises to Be Used for Immoral Purposes and Support From a Prostitute’s Earnings.
OPERATION COMMON CURE ARRESTS FOUR
In a series of early-morning “buy-busts,” officers in Operation Common Cure successfully arrested four on drug charges in the Boston Common. Common Cure is an operation conducted by the Drug Control Unit and officers from Area A-1 (Downtown Boston). This is an ongoing and aggressive operation utilizing undercover officers, and has been devised to combat drug activity in the area. Its formation is in direct response to complaints from the community concerning the illegal activities taking place in and around the Boston Common.
Between approximately 5:45am and 6:30am, the following individuals were arrested: Yohan Marquez, 30, of Boston for Possession Class B With Intent to Distribute, Possession Class B With Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 Feet of School Zone, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Gerald Hamilton, 47, of Boston for Distribution of Class B, Distribution of Class B Within 1,000 Feet of School Zone, Possession Class B With Intent to Distribute, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Shawn Peete, 37, of Charlestown for Distribution of Class B, Distribution of Class B Within 1,000 Feet of School Zone, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, and Brian O’Neal, 38, of Dorchester for Distribution of Class B Drugs and Distribution of Class B Within 1,000 Feet of School Zone.
