Three Arrested On Firearm ChargesAbout 6:00pm last night, officers from District E-18 were informed that a man wearing a white t-shirt got out of a motor vehicle brandishing a handgun in the area of Ridlon Street. Officers patrolled the area and observed a motor vehicle fitting the description enters the gas station acting suspicious. No one exited the vehicle nor did anyone pump gas. A few moments later the vehicle pulled away.
Officers followed the vehicle taking a right onto Hebron Street. Officer observed the brown vehicle in front of 202 Hebron St. Officers observed the front passenger door of the vehicle was open. Officers further observed a black male wearing a dark blue collared shirt kneeling on the ground by a fence at the corner of 202 Hebron St. As officers approached, the black male stood up and turned towards the officers. The officers observed the suspect with a handgun in his right hand and a yellow towel in his left hand. Officers immediately exited the vehicle and ordered the suspect to drop the weapon. At this point the suspect attempted to cover the weapon with the towel. Officers again told the suspect to drop the gun and lay down on the ground. While laying on his stomach the suspect place the handgun into the sewer drain. All three suspects were then handcuffed.
Officers immediately requested that Boston Water and Sewer be notified to attempt to retrieve the firearm. Officers also requested a canine unit be dispatched to the scene to canvass the area where the suspect was kneeling in for more possible firearms. Boston Water and Sewer extracted the firearm from the sewer drain.
Three Milton Residents Jerrell Graves, 19, Jaron O’Bannon, 24 and Kerby Revelus, 22 were all arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm.
Public Drinking Ends in Firearm Arrest
Early this morning around 12:07am, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force while participating in \”Operation Falcon\” affected the arrests of two individuals at 7 Delano St. While on patrol officers responded to 7 Delano Street to investigate that address, due to numerous complaints about several youths who do not live at that address hanging out, drinking alcohol and smoke marijuana. More specifically, officers were informed that these activities occurred around midnight on a nightly basis.
Officers observed two individuals sitting on the top stair and a third individual off to side of the pathway. Officers then observed a large bottle of Vodka and a bottle of beer, which was partially in a brown paper bag on the step below the stair, were the suspect\’s were sitting. Officers asked these individuals if they resided at this address, at which time, suspects two and three stated \”No\” and the first suspect stated \”Yeah I live on the third floor\”. Officers then asked suspect for his name and he responded \”Michael Miranda\”. Officers immediately recognized the suspect as Michael Tavares and also knew his correct address. Officers were aware of this information from dealing with suspect on numerous occasions in the past. Officers once again asked the suspect his name and once again received the answer \”Michael Miranda\”.
All three individuals were asked if they were old enough to drink alcohol, at which time, suspect\’s two and three responded \”No\”. First suspect then stood up and began to walk down the stairs in the direction of officers and stated, \”If I live here what are you doing here\”. Officers then asked the suspect to sit back down and were met with some resistance. Officers once again asked the suspect to sit down and once again the officer’s requests were ignored. Officers then noticed that the suspect appeared to be attempting to conceal something or block officers from viewing the area of the porch directly behind him by moving side to side. Officers then attempted to look behind the suspect. The suspect then continued to move side-to-side obstructing officers view of the porch. The suspect continued to maintain that he was \”Michael Miranda, from the third floor\” and began to take a seat on the top step when officers immediately observed the handle of a firearm, which was wedged into the area of a crack on the porch between two pieces of decking.
Michael Tavares, 19, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Carrying a loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Person Under 21. Also arrested was a 15-year-old male of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Carrying A loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by Person Under 21. The juvenile also had outstanding warrants for Disorderly and Resisting Arrest.
