DEATH INVESTIGATION ON MAYNARD STREET

On July 29, 2007 at approximately 8:47 pm, officers from District E-18 responded to a radio call for an investigate person at 4 Maynard Street in Roslindale. On arrival, officers entered the apartment and discovered multiple victims who appeared to be unconscious. EMS was requested immediately. Soon thereafter, EMS arrived and pronounced one 12-year-old female and one 10-year-old male. The remaining 31 year-old female was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is now being treated for non-life threatening injuries.Homicide detectives are actively investigating this incident. Investigators are in the process of conducting numerous interviews and reviewing crime scene evidence. At this time, the cause of death for both children is undetermined. Detectives are awaiting autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Police Commissioner Ed Davis stated, “On behalf of the Boston Police Department, I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of the victims. We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident. I would also like to extend my sympathy to the first responders on the scene.”
