On Tuesday, June 5, 2007 around 11:23pm, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) responded to 10 Monson St. for a person down. On arrival, officers observed the victim lying on the sidewalk in front of 7 Monson St. suffering from an apparent assault, bleeding from the head and in an unconscious state. The victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center by ambulance for treatment and evaluation.On June 13, 2007 the victim passed away in the hospital while receiving treatment for his injuries. The victim is identified as Michael Hansbury, 41, of Mattapan.
The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be complications of brain injury due to blunt head trauma. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Boston Police detectives are actively investigating this incident.
