At about 9:00 o’clock this evening, members of the Boston Police Homicide Unit arrested Bernard Piscopo, age 38, of Dorchester for the murder of Adam Rich on June 17, 2007 at the Six House Bar in South Boston. Homicide detectives applied for a murder warrant for Piscopo earlier this afternoon at South Boston District Court. Later this afternoon, counsel for Piscopo contacted the District Attorney’s Office and the Boston Homicide Unit and informed them that he was representing Piscopo and arranged for his surrender at Boston Police Headquarters.After appearing at headquarters, Piscopo was transported to Area C-6 in South Boston where he was booked and held for arraignment in South Boston District Court tomorrow morning.
The warrant and arrest is the result of an intensive 3-day investigation and could not have succeeded without assistance from the community in providing information about the incident and the person responsible. This investigation is still active. Homicide detectives are seeking additional witnesses and information.
