GUN ARREST MADE IN ROXBURY
At about 6:30pm, on Thursday, May 3, 2007, officers from the Boston Police Mountain Bike Unit were patrolling Washington Park in the area of District B-2 (Roxbury). While riding through the park, officers observed a group of kids hanging out. Upon seeing the officers, one of the kids began walking away at a quick pace. As the suspect was walking away, officers observed the suspect clutching at something in his waist. According to the officers, the suspect’s movements were consistent with someone attempting to conceal a weapon. As the suspect continued to exit the area, officers observed the suspect continually and quickly look back over his shoulder. Officers then observed the suspect run into a backyard. When they finally caught up to him, officers asked the suspect why he ran. To which, the suspect replied, “I had some weed on me.” Believing that the suspect may have ditched the firearm, officers searched the immediate area. Officers then recovered a semiautomatic (9mm) firearm. Officers arrested Terrell Nicholas, 21, of Mattapan, and charged him with Trespassing and the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
