Two People Arrested for Scalping TicketsYesterday around 6:03pm, officers assigned to the Boston Red Sox Scalping assignment were walking on Brookline Avenue near Newbury Street when they observed an individual leaning against a chain link fence on the corner. As the officer walked by, the suspect asked him “hey buddy, do you need tickets” the officer replied that he was looking for tickets. The suspect replied, “I have the best seats you will find in the right field box, how many do you need. The officer asked how much was he charging for the tickets and the suspect replied $100.00 a piece. The officer requested to see the tickets before he decided and the suspect replied I don’t have the tickets on me, the cops are everywhere, but I can get them and shows them to you. At that time the suspect stated that are to many cops around and to find him in five minutes.
About five minutes later the officer saw the suspect in a restaurant in Kenmore Square. The suspect asked the officer if he still wanted the tickets. The suspect once again told the officer that he did not have them on him, but he could get them from his friend outside. The suspect then walked outside and approached a second suspect. The First suspect walked back into the restaurant with two tickets in hand. The suspect approached the officer and stated here are the tickets I want $100.00 a piece. Officers immediately placed both suspect under arrest for scalping tickets. Dennis Griffin, 36, of East Boston and Edward Bannister, 37, of Dorchester were both arrested and charged with Resale of Tickets
Man Arrested with Loaded Firearm
Yesterday around 6:19pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force while on patrol in the area of 300 Bowdoin Street observed an individual known to police walking down Bowdoin Street towards High Street and entered a market. Further investigation revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrants. Officers entered the market to speak with the suspect about his warrants.
Officers made contact with suspect and asked the suspect for identification. At this time, the suspect replied my name is Gerardo, but officers knew the suspect was lying and stated “don’t give us a fake name Angel”. The suspect became visibly nervous and sweating, looking to the left and right and breathing heavily. The suspect was placed under arrest. During a search incident to an arrest officers recovered a loaded firearm from the suspect. Angel Ferrer, 25, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Ferrer also had outstanding warrants for Drug Possession.
Person Shot in Roxbury
Last night around 11:44pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for shots fired at the intersection of Fayston Street and Blue Hill Avenue. On arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the lip area of his face. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for a non-life threatening injury. Officers did recover ballistic evidence at the intersection of Dunkeld and Fayston Streets.
