Suspect Arrested After Attacking Man with A MacheteLast night around 8:58pm, officers from District 7 while on patrol in the Maverick Square Area observed the suspect chasing the victim. Officers further observed the victim stumble and fall while the suspect stopping in front of the victim and began to swing a machete at the victim striking him several times. Officers immediately exited their cruiser and ran towards the suspect ordering him to drop the machete. Josue Pineda, 22, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with Intent to Murder and Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried. A quick thinking officer began first aid by taking his belt and making a tourniquet to control the bleeding. The victim sustained cuts to his wrist and thigh. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers did recover the machete.
Suspect Arrested for Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle
Last night around 9:47pm, officers from District 4 responded to a radio call for a fight outside of Jillian’s at 145 Ipswich Street. On arrival, officers were approached by the caller who stated her boyfriend is fighting with a guy, who tried to steal their car. Officers observed the victim wrestling with the suspect on the ground next a black vehicle. Officers grabbed the suspect and placed him under arrest after a brief struggle. The victim stated to officers that he was walking to his car they observed the suspect sitting in the drivers seat, while the second suspect stood outside the car. When the victim approached the second suspect he punched the victim. A fight ensued between the victim and the suspect and that’s when the police were called. Officers observed damage to the victim’s ignition and window. Hector Villanueva, 23, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Burglarious Tools. Officers did recovered two screwdrivers.
Person Shot in Mattapan
Last night at 11:43pm, officers from District 18 responded to a radio call for shots fired at 35 Harmon Street. Simultaneously officers also responded to 60 Fairlawn Avenue on a report of shots fired. On arrival officers observed the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the forearm. The victim stated to officers that she was sitting in a vehicle with a friend when a gold colored motor vehicle pulled up along side and fired shots towards them and fled towards Greenfield Road. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injury. Officers did recover ballistic evidence at the scene. The victim was unable to give officers a description of the suspect or a license plate number from the vehicle.
