Home Opener Lands Four in Jail for Scalping TicketsYesterday between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:00pm, officers from District 4 working the scalping detail arrested four individuals for reselling Boston Red Sox Tickets. Officers arrested Richard McCallum, 52, of Medford, Stephen Violette, 36, of Bidderford ME, Scott Cummings, 36, of Newburyport and Charles Cardillo, 53, of Swampscott were all charged with Resale of Tickets.
Trespassing Ends in Drug Arrest
Yesterday at 5:05pm, members of Youth Violence Strike Force observed a group of three males standing in the rear of 17 Bickford Street in an area where officers have made numerous arrests for drugs. As officers were walking towards the group, the individuals walked away in a fast pace into the building. Officers followed the individuals into the rear of 17 Bickford Street and asked the resident if the individuals live there and she stated they did not, they just ran in here. Two of the suspects known to police were issued no trespass orders for Bromley Heath Housing Development. Officers immediately arrested both suspect for trespassing.
Tawana Silva was verbally abusive towards officers and began pushing officers in attempt to free Mr. Moore from being arrested. As officers attempted to handcuff Ms. Silva a crowd gather inside the house becoming angry and hostile. Officers were struck with several blunt objects that were thrown at officers as they attempted to place Ms. Silva under arrest. Officers told Silva numerous times that she was under arrest and to stop resisting. Ms Silva threw herself on a couch and started throwing her arms and kicked her feet striking another resident causing her to fall to the floor. At that time, suspect Joan Silva jumped on officers back yelling, “get off of her”. Officers were finally able to handcuff Tawana Silva and ultimately also arresting Joan Silva. Tawana Silva 26, of Dorchester and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery on A Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. Joan Silva, 36, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on A Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. Robert Platt, 27, of Brockton and George Moore, 29, of Dorchester were arrested and charged with Trespassing and Possession of Class D. Officers did recover drugs from the suspects.
Man Arrested with Loaded Gun
Yesterday at 5:36pm, members of the Special Investigation Unit, Drug Control Unit and ATF were conducting an investigation and observed the suspect and three other males walk towards the Sunoco gas station at Freeport and Dorchester Avenue. Officers observed that the suspects front jacket pocket was sagging down much lower than his left pocket consistent with a firearm being in the pocket. Officers further observed that the suspect was holding his right hand in his pocket the entire time. Rashaad Mason, 20, of Dorchester charging him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Carrying a Loaded Firearm. Officers did recover a firearm from the suspect.
