The Boston Police, FBI and Dedham Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two suspects related to a bank robbery that occurred earlier today.
On April 4, 2007 at approximately 1:51 pm, Boston Police were notified of a bank robbery that occurred at the Hyde Park Savings Bank located at 1920 Centre Street in West Roxbury. A female suspect entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money to an awaiting vehicle that police believe was operated by a male suspect.
Immediately following the incident, Boston Police put out a radio broadcast detailing the suspect vehicle description. An off-duty Boston Police officer recognized the vehicle from the description and began to follow. The officer alerted Boston Police that he was in pursuit.
The officer followed the vehicle to Garfield Street in Dedham, which is a dead end street. The suspect vehicle is believed to have struck the officer’s car several times in an attempt to flee. At this time, the officer discharged his department firearm. The suspects then fled the area and their unattended vehicle was soon located on Ware Street in Dedham.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. As standard procedure, the Boston Police Firearm Discharge Investigation Team is reviewing the circumstances of the officer’s department firearm discharge.
Currently the Boston Police, FBI and Dedham Police are actively searching for the two suspects involved in this incident.
The female suspect is described as approximately 5 ft. 6 in., thin build and pale complexion.
